WHAT WE DO
We export peanuts to several International buyers.
Product Profile
Peanut, also known as groundnut, goober, pindar, earthnut or monkey nut. Peanuts aren’t a true nut; they are legume (in the same family as pea, beans, soy and lentils). Peanuts are packed with healthy fats and high-quality protein. They are also fairly high in calories.
World production of peanuts was approximately 47 million metric tons in 2020, with China being the largest producer with about 16.7 million metric tons, followed by India with 6.9 million metric and Nigeria is the third largest world producer with over 3 million metric ton, followed by USA with 2.6 million metric ton. About 56% of world peanut production were made into peanut butter.
In Nigeria, peanut can be grown twice a year (March – April), late planting (August – September). Hence peanut harvesting is twice a year, the first in July and the second in December. However, at Acme Global Merchants Ltd, our export delivery is throughout the year.
