WHAT WE DO
We export dry hibiscus flower to several international buyers.
Product Profile
Hibiscus flower comes in many colors. They can be red, yellow, white or peach colored, and can be as 6 inches wide. The red flowers are most commonly cultivated for medical purpose, and are available as dietary supplement. Dried hibiscus flower is the lush red petals. When the dried petals are steeped on hot (or cold) water, they release a tart, almost –cranberry like flavor and deep red-violet color.
China and Thailand are the largest producers of dry hibiscus flower and control much of the world supply. The world best hibiscus flower comes from Sudan, but the quantity is low and poor processing hampers quality.
In Nigeria, hibiscus plant grows all year-round, but the peak production is during the dry season of November to April. Our export of dry hibiscus flower at Acme Global Merchants Ltd is made throughout the year.
Uses of Dry Hibiscus Flower:
Dry hibiscus flower is used in the production of hibiscus tea. The tea is a caffeine free herbal tea. It is also used for the local brew known as Zobo and it can be processed into hot and cold herbal beverages, jellies and confectioneries.
