WHAT WE DO

Product Profile
Kola nut is the fruit of the evergreen kola tree which is found in the rainforest of West Africa. Inside the tree’s star-shaped fruits are white shells, which contain the seeds or kola nuts. Each fruit contains between two and five kola nuts. About the size of a chestnut, this little fruit is packed with caffeine. Kola nuts have a bitter taste when chewed fresh. When they are dried, the taste becomes milder and they reportedly smell of nutmeg. The estimated production life of a kola nut tree is 70 -100 years.
Nigeria is the world largest producer of kola nut with over 161,000 metric ton production in 2019. Followed by Ivory Coast and Cameroon with over 60,100 metric ton and 50,500 metric ton productions respectively. Ghana is fourth with a production of 25,300 metric ton.
In Nigeria, kola nut tree fruits two times in a year (May-June) and (November-December). The major harvest season is the later, while mild harvest is May/June. However, at Acme Global Merchants Ltd, our export delivery is throughout the year.
