Product Profile
Bitter Kola, also known as Garcinia kola, is a plant found in Central and Western Africa. Bitter kola reddish yellow seeds have a sharp, bitter, astringent, aromatic flavor; somewhat resembling that of a raw coffee bean that eases into a slight sweetness with a lingering pepperiness as you chew. Virtually every part of the bitter kola tree has been known for its medicinal value.
Nigeria is a principal producer of bitter kola with about 150,000 metric ton annually. Cameroon, Benin, Gabon and Sierra Leone are also known for their large production.
